If you are interested in herbal medicine, it is crucial that you begin to learn the medicinal plants in your own neighborhood. First, because there are some very good ones, and they grow everywhere, even in the middle of the city and may are available year-round. Second, because they are generally more potent for you medicinally than plants from the other side of the planet. Finally, because you never know when you might really need this kind of information. There have been attempts in the past to take away our rights to help our own health through the use of herbs. There have been recent political initiatives to do this in other ways as well, but these kinds of laws usually target herbs as they are sold on the shelf or online, not what you can identify growing wild or even grow yourself in your own yard/garden.
Bring your cameras, a notebook, comfortable clothes and shoes to be outside in. Unless it is absolutely pouring rain, count on the class happening (drizzle and light rain doesn’t count) ?
We will meet just outside Anna’s Apothecary, at 119 Canon Avenue in Manitou Springs.
Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a camera and/or notepad and a hat to shield you from the sun!
